Seismic Editor - Aberdeen
Due to further expansion of our product base, the Marine Team in Aberdeen have an immediate opening. You will play a key role in contacting external sources for information retrieval and verification, help to maintain and update our proprietary database, including data input and data checks, and contribute to reports and forecasting. Your responsibilities will include tracking and reporting of marine seismic vessels, making frequent phone calls to verify new and historical data, entering new data and updating and correcting existing records, researching and writing marine seismic related news, liaising with reporter colleagues to pass on newsworthy information, and any other duties appropriate to maintaining a consistently high standard of product. You will be Degree qualified or have equivalent relevant work experience, preferably in a data-handling discipline, and be familiar with the oil and gas industry. You will be expected to become an expert in your field. You should be self motivated and able to work with minimal supervision, possess strong PC skills with excellent attention to detail and be able to work to deadlines, show a willingness to learn within a challenging environment, and bring a positive attitude to the work place. You will play a key role within a team delivering onshore and offshore market analysis (such as Subsea, LNG, Capital Equipment, Offshore Installation) to leading oil and gas companies worldwide. You will be expected to become an expert in these sectors. Your key responsibilities will include analysis of a wide range of market segments which provides valuable input to the Operator's sourcing and procurement strategies; forecast pricing trends, demand, supply, growth areas; know and describe market segments' structure and players; handle oil and gas companies' requests for information and market insight; presenting papers at industry conferences; promoting the Company's Market Survey capability. You will have a Masters Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering or similar, preferably with an emphasis on data analysis within the financial sector or the oil and gas industry. Alternatively, appropriate work experience in a similar discipline would be essential. Experience of macroeconomic and/or corporate analysis and an awareness of financial markets would be an advantage. You will play a key role in handling the Field Development Team's growing volume of Consulting and Research (C&R) work mainly focused on offshore pipelay and crane barges, diving support and ROV support vessels, and floating accommodation units. You will be expected to become an expert in these sectors. Your key responsibilities will include assisting sales colleagues with initial responses to C&R queries; drawing up detailed proposals including workscope, timing and pricing; start-to-finish delivery of reports, including researching and writing; responding to follow up queries from clients; presenting papers at industry conferences and promoting the Company's C&R capability. You will have a Masters Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering or similar, preferably with an emphasis on data analysis within the financial sector or the oil and gas industry.
